The Interpeduncular Nucleus is a small, unpaired median cluster of the limbic midbrain area that recieves the stria medularis thalami/fasciculus retroflexus pathway and gices rise to downstream projections to mor caudal regions of the midbrain. Upaward prjections also exist, but the functional roles are uncertain.
