The New Sounds of the Hippocampus are produced from simultaneous recordings of an 8x8 electrode grid and software written to transform raw time-varying signals into both rhythmic and chaotic sound. These methods generate systematic comparison of hippocampal data sets allowing highly structured patterns to emerge. In conjunction, this exploration of data space uncovers the temporal and spatial ordering of information carried in each electrical signal.
